I am really coming to like this linky, but I never have enough pics to post so I made sure to get some this week so I can link up again!
First up...
These pics are a little late in coming, but they were from valentine's day :) I made my fiance a peanut butter chocolate cake and he had a tiny piece (normally he eats a lot) so when I asked him what was up he looked at me sheepishly and said I don't really like peanut butter, just sometimes peanut butter sandwiches. What!? Haha, we've been together over 6 years and I did not realize this! Oh well, it was good and I shared with my co-teacher after.
The other pic is a scavenger hunt I created for him using sayings based and candy. I hid them around the apartment and he loved it! (ps. he had tears in his eyes, but don't tell him I told you that!)
2) This week, we started off with some presidential stuff and watched a movie about american symbols then completed this worksheet. (Compliments of Mrs. Jones Creation Station on TPT)
3) We finished up early one day so the kids love this game that I dubbed swat it. Basically we play with math or literacy concepts (this was literacy) and I put answers or words on the smart board and call out a math problem or sight word and the first person to slap it wins a point for their team. (they love playing girls against boys!)
4) This last one counts for 4 and 5, but I wanted to share with you because the kids LOVE doing these! I got these books over the summer the teach math in a super fun way! The kids must answer problems on various skills and for each choice, add on part of a robot so by the end, they have a whole picture and they can check their work to see if the attachments and colors are right. I do this step by step on the smart board and they follow along, then we go back and check each one and the kiddos who get all right get a few extra points on class dojo. But definitely google these books. They are amazing!
Ok, I hope you have a nice, relaxing night! I'm off to watch my bride shows on TLC! :D
Your scavenger hunt was super sweet!

Is your classroom a whole circus theme? I could only find a couple of pics. It looks super cute! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI love the Swat idea. I just have the kids erase it on the whiteboard, but this sounds way cuter.
