Assess Me Linky and Baby shower!

Hi sweet friends! So I thought it would be fun to link up with The Tatooed Teacher to do her get to know you linky.
 week1header
 Some comments...
yes, I admit, I do crack my knuckles, but they have never given me pain (knock on wood) or swelled up. It's a nervous thing I do I guess.

I am 7 months pregnant and ALWAYS hungry! haha..I went to visit my family for our baby shower this weekend and ate wayyy too much food! And I have a doc appt today so hopefully I didn't gain too much!

I still do have my wisdom teeth. They have never bothered me and I guess will never come in. I am 28 years old so I think I have passed the time of getting them pulled.

I admit...I haven't showered yet today..but it's only 10:30am and I do plan on doing that before heading out to Target and the doc's.:)

I haven't been to Disney Land but I have been to Disney World twice. Once when I was 4 and once when I was 14.

I grew up in Ohio and now live in North Carolina. I miss being close to family, but it's only a 7.5 hour car ride so at least it's a trip that can be made in a day..not too bad.

And as I said before, we celebrated our upcoming little man this weekend with our baby shower. Here are some pics!
my mom did the cake, it was also swirled with blue inside. :)

and she did the diaper centerpieces.

me and my hubby

tables all decked out in blue
so much baby stuff!
We are so blessed for the wonderful weekend and all the neat things we got. I am actually washing little clothes as I type this. :) So excited to get everything together and take a breath before school starts back!

I am linking up with Kinder Tribe today for her meet me kinder linky party! I am so excited to read about all the other kinder teachers! Here we go!
http://kindertribe.blogspot.com/2015/07/all-about-this-kinder-teacher-first.html

So a little short intro to me...I have been teaching 4 years, I taught 1 year in Ohio where I grew up, then moved to north carolina and taught first grade the first year, then kinder, then first grade last year and now excited to be back in kinder this year!! :) I'm hoping I can stay here for a while! ;)

I love to bake and have baked a ton this summer because I am pregnant so I am house bound becuase of the ridiculous heat, and also because I am pretty bored..and hungry most of the time! haha

I love having binders to organize papers in! I have all reading assessments in binders as well as math and then when I need a test, I can just pull it out and copy! I also take my teacher binder around with me everywhere and love staying organized!

I love the First day Jitters because it shows kids, they aren't the only ones nervous on the first day..teachers can be too! :)

Love..this..blog! She has lots of great ideas and such cute products! Click on image to go to her blog!
  Kindergarten Smiles
And the last is self-explanatory...I love kindergarten so much! They come to us as babies (many of them) and leave the end of the year with so much growth and knowledge! I just love it..makes my heart happy!

So head over to kinder tribe to link up kindergarten friends! I hope you have a wonderful rest of they day!

14 in 14... (and a flash freebie!)

Hi Sweet Friends!
I hope you are having a fabulous winter break. I just got back from visiting family for Christmas on Monday and am using this week to veg out and relax. :) We have a work day on Monday the 5th and kids start back on Tuesday.
I am linking up with 3 lovely ladies for their 14 favorites in 2014. Here we go!
http://www.miss-kindergarten.com/2014/12/14-in-14-linky-party.html

I love being girly and dressing up. Right now, I am loving fleece lined leggings and chunky cowls. I actually just made a scarf very similar to this one!
Arm Knit a Scarf in 30 Minutes!

I love all funny movies! One I really liked was Tammy. I love everything that Melissa McCarthy is in.

I really like Hart of Dixie. I have been catching up with the 3rd season on Netflix. :)

This is another hard one. I like the classic Olive Garden, but I also like a local restraunt called Southern Roots.

Going on the scarf above, I am a big crafter and knitter. I really like arm knitting. It goes so quick and I love the chunky way it looks. :)

My husband made me a coupon book for Christmas with all sorts of fun things including travel and apologizing with no strings attached. I can't wait to use them!

I made this decadent Tiramisu cheesecake for Thanksgiving this year and it was amazing! (and pretty easy!)

Ha! I'm going to have to pass on this one. I've been too busy lately to be a regular blogger.

I got into a district that I love this summer without "knowing someone." :) It's been an adjustment, but I love the staff and kids, and it's really close to my house.

My husband and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary in October. We have been together for over 8 years and I am head over heels about him. :)

We went to the Smokey Mountains for our anniversary and stayed in a cute little cabin. It was amazing!

To become organized at home and leave school at school. Also to work on being as much stress free as possible and hope and pray for a new baby to grace our lives this year!

Hope.

Well if you made it this far through my post, I have a flash freebie I uploaded to my store. It is a word game you can use for a center when you go back. :) Enjoy! It will be free for the next 24 hours.

Off I go to make the rest of the appetizers for tonight. We are just having 1 other couple and their new baby over for the evening, so it will be a low key night! Happy New Year's Eve! See ya in the new year!!

Meet the Teacher Linky!

Hello! I am just taking a break from cleaning the house today in anticipation of one of my hubby's friend and his wife to come over and I thought I would link up over at Falling into First for her Meet the Teacher Linky!...here we go!

So I am a 27yo wife, teacher, baker, crafter, pinner and country lovin' gal! I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and have taught for the past 3 years. When I graduated college, I got a job as a Title 1 math teacher, then when budgets were being cut, I started looking elsewhere and got a job in Asheboro, NC! The hubby (fiance at the time) packed up and we made the move that summer. I taught first grade in 2012, then moved to Greensboro and taught Kindergarten at a charter school. In October 2013, I got married!! (8 years comin!)

We just bought our first house this summer!

I wanted to be a little closer to home (the commute was 40 min) so I started looking...again, and accepted a first grade job at one of my neighborhood schools...(now the commute is less than 10!) I'm really grateful for the life I have been dealt so far, and I am excited to see what his new year will bring!

THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS...
Starbucks. Art. Country music. Dresses. My cat. The color Pink. Creating teaching stuff. Polka dots. Retro clothes. Cat eyes. Funky pens. Florida Georgia Line. The countryside. Wine! Cheesecake. Tacos. The beach. Ross Clothing store. Bows.

IF YOU WEREN'T A TEACHER, WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO BE?
There's no doubt, I would want to be a baker..maybe an owner of a cupcake store. I love to bake!!

THREE LITTLE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE YOU.
Shy. Creative. Hopeful.

FINISH THE SENTENCE "........." SAID NO TEACHER EVER
"I love Mondays! Said no teacher ever.

IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY AND YOU ARE INVITING ANYONE TO THE PARTY. WHO WILL YOU BRING?
This may sound corny, but I think I would bring my best friend Becca. I haven't seen her since my wedding and we live so far apart, that we haven't been together on my birthday since I was probably in college.

IF SOMEONE WROTE A BOOK ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD BE THE TITLE
The girl who Hoped, Prayed and never gave up.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE OR SAYING?
That describes me perfectly....although I'll never pass up going out for good food!

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE RESOURCE THAT YOU CREATED IN YOUR TPT SHOP?
Right now, I am really loving my champs posters and can't wait to use them!
Bee Themed Champs posters

SHARE SOMETHING WE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU..
Hmm..the hubby and I started trying for baby #1 a little over a month ago...no good news yet, but we're hopeful and praying every day!...Think about us friends!

Your turn...head over to Falling into First to link up and let us get to know you!

My awesome purchases!

Hey friends! So I have been in training these past two days, but have had my TPT cart ready to go..I was getting very antsy to buy what I had put in there, but too busy at the end of yesterday so click the purchase button! Then today, I thought about it a lot at training, and didn't want to forget so I came home, and parked it on the couch! haha. I feel very good about what I got. I actually bought a few things, checked em' out and added feedback then used my TPT credits and the promo code to go back for more! Sweet deal! So with out further adieu...here's what I got!
 BHlink

1)  Morning work 1st grade- I am very excited to use this packet. I have always had a lot of kids finish their morning work too early, but I like that Faith has a LA side and a math side. I think that will be perfect for my class!!

2) Back to school no prep packet- first off, I love everything that Annie creates, and I think this will be perfect for homework the few couple weeks of school!

3) September Math Journals- I am planning on doing some math journaling before we start our whole group lessons each day. I love this product (and all the months that Reagan has put out!)

4) Student Engagement- I actually didn't even see this until I was looking at how many others have purchased and gave RAVE reviews...I can't wait to read it!

5) Guided reading just the games- my district seems to be pretty clear cut on our guided reading program, but I just adore these games made by Kristin. I can't wait to play them with my small groups!

6) Math workshop print and go- I am prepping my math centers to be used in September (see below) but I wanted to have something for them to do if they finish early..or anytime during the day. I think these will be perfect!

7) Parent reminder notes- I think these are too stinkin' adorable and cannot wait to print out on different colored paper to send home in the kids' binders!

8) Back to School math centers- Again, another amazing product by Reagan. I cannot wait to get these printed and laminated. I plan on having the students do one a day and rotate through them throughout the week. This product will give me two weeks worth of math centers! :)

9) Friends in First- I cannot wait to use the activities in this packet the first week of school. They are adorable and will make the first week a fun and easy transition back into the groove of things for my firsties.

whew! I had so much fun seeing what was available and stocking up my cart. Now I think I'm done for a while or the hubby might not be too pleased with this teacher! haha.
I'm off to make dinner and feed the pooch! Tomorrow it's more training for me :/ My district does Fundations for our phonics and word work curriculum. Have you heard of it? I actually did it during my student teaching and I really like it!
Anyway, there are just a few hours left on the sale...head on over to TPT to stock up! Happy shopping!

Five for Friday

Hey Friends!
I'm linking up with Doodlebugs for her weekly linky party. (and I'm not doing it on a Saturday! haha)

fiveforfriday2_thumb3_thumb3
I went in an got the last of my things from my "old" school this week, now I just have to go through everything and reorganize for the new classroom, because stuff is all over...as you can see!
In addition to that, my friend who just had a baby and is not returning this year, gave me her rocker! I am so excited. I need to sand it and re-paint it. :)
We got our canopy in time for our family to come last weekend. It was so nice to sit under it at night with the lights and I love how it looks when all the curtains are tied back as well. If your wondering, we got it at Lowe's. :)

We also got a fire pit and made smores. :) I love our little set up we have goin' on now!
It's been crazy weather here in NC. It's either been too hot to enjoy being outside, or very dreary, like this week has been. My little fur babies have been using the time to catch up on their naps. :)

And now that you're at the end of this post..I wanted to share with you a little freebie a put up in my store yesterday. My new school does school wide PBIS expectations in the hallways and classrooms. I have my own set of rules I'd like to post and didn't want to make individual posters for PBIS, so I made this little sign to post near the front of the room. Feel free to grab! ;)
http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/PBIS-expectation-poster-1318306

I'm off to clean and pack for my long trip to Cleveland tomorrow...so excited to see the family! :)
