New Set of Math Words and Giveaway!
Hey everyone! So we have this great phonics wall in our room that I just adore and each week, I introduce a new phonics concept to the kids. Well I wanted to do something similar and while there are lots of really good math cards out there, I didn't find any that I fit perfectly so I created a set of my own. There are over 40 math words each with a picture and most with a definition as well. I also grouped them according to standards with different backgrounds. I hope to start implementing these cards with the new year. They are up in my TN store for just $4.00 but I will be giving away a set to 2 random people if you leave a comment with email address. The giveaway will end Christmas day! Hope you win!

First grade Common Core
I know I blogged about this a few posts ago, but I am so ready to try this workbook out! I love having creative, hands-on lessons and activities and with the common core upon us, this will be a wonderful resource to help me with the first grade common core!
If you have not seen this before...I URGE you to go to the link RIGHT NOW! haha. Really, it's amazing though. The website offers a sample preview of just some of the pages in the book and they are all great worksheets and centers that we first grade teachers can use right now. I really like the new standards and I think by having less and delving more deeply into the topics, our kids will really excel and be better thinkers and learners. So please, go to the website and check it out! You won't be disappointed.

Common Core and Superstar
Hey everyone! So I've seen posts upon posts for the kindergarten common core workbook and just had to see if there is a first grade one...guess what?! There is! yay!
If you have not checked these out, these books would be an awesome addition to your curriculum and contain worksheets and centers that are all geared toward common core standards in ELA and Math. Whoop whoop! I might just have to download a copy!
The other thing I wanted to share was my "door of fame." We do star students and each day of the week, that student participates in special activities. At the end of the week, my assistant traces his/her hands and they sign their paper then it gets posted on our door of Top Acts. We just started so it's bare now, but our first little one really enjoyed this! :)
