Some BTS Freebies!

So I'm trying to get ahead of the game (aren't we all!?) So I can start the year smoothly and then be ready for when baby Everett wants to make his appearance.
We have open house the day before school starts this year...normally it's on a Friday and then parents have the weekend to get ready, but this year, my school is doing it on a Sunday...not sure how I feel about that, but we'll see how it goes!
 
I decided it will be so easy to do stations and then make sure the parents hit every one and get what they need. :) I made some posters and back to school forms and wanted to share with you. Freebie Verb Scoot

Hi Friends!
First of all, let me start of by saying..if you are off school now, I am very jealous of you! :) We still have 12 more days! Would have been off June 12th, but here in NC we got a lot of snow in February and now it's extended to June 17th. :( Luckily though, those last two days are half days..and I know a lot of parents won't be bringing their students. (I know I wouldn't) so we'll be packing up that Friday and bring in board games/watching a movie those very last two days...

Anyway, I made this quick and simple verb scoot for my class this week. They were telling me they forgot what verbs were last week!! What...no that cannot happen! So this is summer themed and hopefully will help to jump start their memory. They just have to read the sentences and record the verb. :) Hope you enjoy!

I'm off to grocery shop and grab something to eat...being pregnant, I can eat all day! But luckily at 22 weeks, I have only gained 12 pounds! :) Have a good week!

Revamping Behavior management for end of year

Hey guys!
I hope you've been having a good year. It's been hard to update the blog this year, and I don't know why...but I wanted to share with you what I am doing from now until the end of the year...
In my room, I started off the year with a clip chart system, but after the first month, it was not working for my little ones, so I switched to class dojo exclusively. I had the system up daily and gave and took points, plus had rewards and consequences for points. My parents love the daily communication they receive and the fact they can log in at anytime. 
Well , after spring break, I put my kids back into table groups and changed class dojo just to table points. Now the table has to work together to get points and at the end of the day, whichever table has the most, gets to be VIP for the next day. They visit treasure box, where tags around school and get a surprise on desks when they arrive in morning! I love it and they love the change. I think it will work for the end of the year. (only 40 days left!) Here are some highlights..and freebies!

I made a poster to go along with the new system to remind the students how to act like a VIP. (click for copy)

These are the tags I printed and laminated, then hung on necklaces for the VIP members to wear. (click for copy)

And finally, I made a good note and poor choices note to send home to individual students in case they still did awesome and their table didn't get VIP or they really need to change their behavior for next day.

And finally, a reason I've been so busy to update is this little person growing inside! Here is an updated pic from 2 weeks ago! We find out sex next Monday and are beyond excited!!

Thanksgiving Noun/Verb Scoot

A couple apple Freebies

Hi Friends! 
I hope your weekend is going well. I worked on school stuff all morning while the hubby was at work. I'm finally caught up. (which is good because I guess my hubby invited guests over for dinner tomorrow night! haha)

I have to say, this year overall is proving to be a tough one. I think I've mentioned, I have a pretty difficult class. Lots of behavior issues and a couple special needs. Many are sweet hearts and even the ones that are challenges have the potential to be sweethearts, but they sometimes really test my patience and I get to thinking, why am I doing this?! It's tough. :(

Anyway, we have our Scholastic book fair this week and because of that, we don't have library. I thought I would have the kids silent read for a bit, then we'll do a couple apple activities since we don't get to do a whole lot of hands on things. I'm planning on doing a graphic organizer, showing Johnny Appleseed Brainpopjr video and then having an apple taste test and graphing our results.

Days Poster Freebie!

Hi Friends! I've been working like mad on school stuff these past few days and trying not to get too overwhelmed. 
I made a calendar/math area where we will meet each morning after announcements to sing our songs, work with numbers, etc...I realized I always sing the days of the week song, but didn't have a poster for reference this year. 1 More Full Week!

hello friends! I hope you are having a great weekend! It's been very rainy and gloomy here..but great for relaxing and taking things slow. ;) Yesterday the hubby had a friend over all day so I was able to get caught up and create SO much school stuff!...and I am grateful I have one more full week coming up of summer break still!!
Today the only thing on my agenda is grocery shopping, finishing laundry and reading. :)
I have a freebie for you..I've been printing out a ton of posters to decorate my classroom and didn't find an "EEKK" poster that I really loved, so I made my own. Feel free to snag it if you like it as well. I know there's a lot of posters out there and this is just another choice! ;)

On a non-educational note, (and I hope this is not TMI, but after many days of low fertility on my clear blue ovulation tester, I finally got my first "high fertility" smiley face today!) The hubby and I have been TTC now for just a little over a month and a half, but it already feels like forever! Haha, I hope things go well this month and we get some good news. (keep us in your prayers friends! Thank you!)

Birthday Fun and Bee Freebies!

I had a wonderful birthday yesterday. My hubby had to work a half day, but I got some more bee stuff done for the classroom.
Then when he got home, we got ready and went to The Cheesecake Factory!! (one of my favorites!)

So, if you've been following my posts, you know I'm creating things for my bee themed classroom this year. I'm doing the clip chart and I'll have 2 levels above the green so for each level, they are at, at the end of the day, that's how many bee bucks they'll get. green=1, blue=2 and pink=3. Also, if they get pink (the tipy-top) they'll get this reward to take home and show mom and dad! I just posted these freebies in my TPT shop if you'd like to grab them as well!

I also created a bee themed calendar for my teacher binder. This is just $1.50 and plus the birthday sale is still going on, it's on sale until Sunday!

Hi Friends!
So I started to organize my teaching stuff Tuesday and I got so overwhelmed I just had to stop! haha..I have only been teaching for 3 years so I really don't think I have that much stuff, but it's hard to put things together instead of just hanging them up or storing in the classroom. I'd rather go through it once I'm in the classroom! Do you ever get that way?

Five for Friday

Hey Friends!
I'm linking up with Doodlebugs for her weekly linky party. (and I'm not doing it on a Saturday! haha)

 I went in an got the last of my things from my "old" school this week, now I just have to go through everything and reorganize for the new classroom, because stuff is all over...as you can see! 

In addition to that, my friend who just had a baby and is not returning this year, gave me her rocker! I am so excited. I need to sand it and re-paint it. :)

We got our canopy in time for our family to come last weekend. It was so nice to sit under it at night with the lights and I love how it looks when all the curtains are tied back as well. If your wondering, we got it at Lowe's. :)

We also got a fire pit and made smores. :) I love our little set up we have goin' on now!

It's been crazy weather here in NC. It's either been too hot to enjoy being outside, or very dreary, like this week has been. My little fur babies have been using the time to catch up on their naps. :)

And now that you're at the end of this post..I wanted to share with you a little freebie a put up in my store yesterday. My new school does school wide PBIS expectations in the hallways and classrooms. I have my own set of rules I'd like to post and didn't want to make individual posters for PBIS, so I made this little sign to post near the front of the room. Feel free to grab! ;)
