50 Followers...What?! TPT Giveaway

Hi Sweet friends! Well yesterday was a fun day. I got to relax and work on the computer. I also skyped with my mom and made our bridal shower tags and started working on our wedding favor tags. It's getting closer...77 days till the wedding! :) Then we went to this really cool restaurant for my birthday dinner! And THEN, the future hubby surprised me and said next weekend once I get back from Michigan, we're going on a trip. Of course he held out on me the whole day, but when we went to bed, finally told me it was Charleston, SC!!! Whoo hoo! That's one of my favorite places in the world! :D (doin' the happy dance!)

And he said more surprises were on the way once we got there! (squeal!!) He's the greatest!!

Early Finisher Work...(and a giveaway!)

Hey friends! How has your week been going? Mine's been...ehh..but I get to sleep in a tad tomorrow because we have a prof development day. This girl is sooo ready for the weekend! The kids have just been up and down again this week...I'm beginning to think this is how it's going to be for the next 28 days. :/ 

So do you have trouble trying to handle your early finishers? I know I do, and since we're limited with copies, I can't really have extra worksheets for them to do (and that can get boring) so I have a solution for you! I present to you....

This packet contains over 5 activities, with no worksheets and that can be done independently or with partners, as your kiddos finish up their class work. New CVC game posted (and a quick giveaway!)

Hey friends! Almost Friday! Yay! How are your kiddos faring with the changing seasons? We've had a lot of kids out this week and now my co-teacher is sick and won't be in tomorrow. I don't know if I became immune to sickness after working in a daycare for 5 years, but I never get sick. (haha, I'll bet I just jinxed that one!) So I will be in full swing tomorrow and next week as we prepare for spring break starting next Friday.

Well, I just wanted to let you know, I created a new cvc word game. I have remediation groups in the morning which consist of 4 kids who are struggling with reading. We always do a couple worksheets, and then play a game. They really liked this one and since it's all cvc words, it really honed in on those basic reading skills. Basically, the children take turns pulling a card and once someone gets SPRING, all cards get turned back in and play continues until deck is empty. Pretty fun and simple. February Morning Work

Good morning sweet friends! It is 8:30 on a saturday morning, and I cannot believe I'm up already, but I went to bed last night around 11 and then the future Mr. had work today, so when he got up, I couldn't really go back to sleep. That's ok though, because I like to work when it's so nice and calm in the house and sip my hazelnut coffee. :)


So today, I wanted to do a post on my first attempt at morning work. February is just around the corner and there are soo many cute ideas and worksheets out there. I will probably end up pulling from a bunch of resources throughout the month, but I wanted to make some morning worksheets just to see how I would like them. (and I didn't have anything to do last night while the guys were playing video games..lol) So this packet it up now at my TN store! It's only got 15 pages because I like to alternate paper pencil work with making words since our print copies are so limited (grr). So go check it out! Birthday Giveaway!!

Hi Everyone! So I have to admit, I've been so lazy since we got home. Yesterday I went out for a bit and spent some money on two picture collage frames for our engagment pics and then laid around all night on the comp. I did the same routine today minus the shopping part. haha! I've been typing the recipes I've pinned on pinterest and boy do I have some good ones. My mission is to try them all once we move. 

The main reason for my post today is to announce my birthday giveaway! Woot woot! I'm turning the big 2-5 in 5 days. It's upsetting that once you get older, birthdays are not as fun or exciting anymore. Well I want to put an end to that this year and celebrate with all of you!!

Now, let me tell you how this one went, if anyone actually counts to make sure. My comments for the giveaway weren't numbered. (I'm still trying to figure that out and it's being stubborn) but I sorted my comments from oldest to newest since that's how most giveaways go and are numbered. Then I counted (twice) and got the 15th comment. Hopefully the next giveaway will have commented numbers. :)

On another note, I am very discouraged today because I got 4 rejection emails. 4! Come on give me a break! lol. Very sad I just wanted to cry after about the 3rd one. And the one district, I apply to every post and they always say basically "sorry better luck next time, keep a look out." Of course I just want to email back and say what do you want from me?! What are you looking for?!

And finally, some pics of my day. 

In this pic, my first graders were reviewing money. I found these cute ice cream cutouts at the teacher store and wrote different amounts on them. Then we pretended to go to Dairy Queen and order some flavors. (I had the same flavors with prices for each child so they were all working on the same "order") It was fun and they giggled at some of my outrageous orders!

In the above pics, we were working on money in kindergarten as well. This little activity didn't go as well as I hoped because my students still don't know their coin identifications let alone trying to count out coins to buy items. (I was a little frustrated at this observation) But I just gave them a lot of support and kept all items priced under 13 cents. It was worth a try!

Tomorrow is our last potluck of the year and the theme is mexican. I was going to make taco dip, but someone is making something similar so I'm breaking the "theme" and making devil's food cupcakes with a fondant rose on each one! I'm excited and will post a pic of the finished products tomorrow! 

Now on to rest and NOT checking my emails!
