Good Afternoon Friends!
I hope you are enjoying the weekend and getting ready to the (fabulous) short week ahead! We have school Monday and Tuesday, with optional teacher work day on Wednesday. Luckily we have a wonderful principal and she gave us a trade day back in August if we worked it, then we got Wednesday off. :)
I am so excited because Tuesday night my parents are coming in to stay with us for Thanksgiving. They will be here until Sunday and we have lived in NC for over 2 years now and they are finally coming down to see us! :D We will be taking them around town and on Saturday, going to Charleston, SC because they both have never been. :)
Anyway, I wanted to share some pics of our fun week last week...here we go!
We made disguised turkeys as part of our monthly family projects (I love having the kids do these and the parents tell me they enjoy the projects as well!)
In math, we learned about composing different shapes from basic shapes.
In science, we did a dancing colors experiment for our class science fair project. (each class in K-2 does a whole class project to display and 3-5 does individual projects)
We also got our warm fuzzy jar filled for the first time this year (there are about 70 or so pom poms they must earn from getting compliments and great whole class behavior) We celebrated with a small ice cream treat after lunch.
On a non-school related note, the hubby had to work a half day yesterday, so I got up early and pulled out all our Christmas decorations and did our house. (we were going to put up the lights outside today, but it's going to rain) I love the way it turned out!
**On a side note, our tree is fake, but we went to Lowe's and found these pine scented plastic sticks you hang on your tree and they are supposed to last up to two weeks...they are working so far! They have actually scented the whole living room, so I highly recommend them! ;)
Well I'm off to use this lazy day to get a jump start on planning for after break! Our Elf on the shelf will be returning this year and I have found so many cute ideas to do on Pinterest!! ;)
Have a great day and relaxing, wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends!
