And the Countdown Continues...

Hey sweet friends! Did you have a good Memorial day weekend? Mine was pretty busy. Saturday I stayed home and cleaned and worked out. On Sunday, the future Mr. and I went to G'boro to sign the lease on our new apartment for July and then we spent the afternoon looking around the area. I am in love with it already! Shops, restaurants, hotels..you name it, it's all 5 min away from us! Yay! Then we started looking at furniture stores to replace our old yucky couches. Yesterday, he had to work and I lazed around. :) I'm kinda annoyed that our apartment pool isn't open yet. All the other ones in the area are open and it's going to be in the 80's all week, but they haven't even started to clean ours! Grr!

So I'm back with Day 9 of the end of year countdown. :) My freebie for you today is a digraph sort. It is similar to the syllable one from Friday, but focuses on the skill of sorting digraphs. I hope you like it!

And last, I am linking up with Kim at Finding Joy in 6th Grade for her Next School Year Linky!

I don't think I did as good of a job with this as I would have liked. I have a lot more knowledge and resources this year and will definitely implement them more next year...speaking of which, this book just came in the mail today and I can't wait to get out my highlighter and read through it! My new school focuses on this behavior model...(I'll letcha know how I like it!)
I love all the ideas I've seen out there and will like to implement some of them to see how my students grow. :)
I'm pretty good at organizing now, but I need to get more containers over the summer for centers and re-organize my binders.

*I put one of the most important ones last! ;) Sometimes I get too caught up in work and spend a couple hours once I'm home, still doing stuff. I don't want to do that next year. I want to come home and relax...with a few days of grading. ';)

Whew! That was a long post, sorry guys, but thanks for hanging in there...now off to make some dinner!

  2. I've heard a lot of good things about CHAMPS. You will have to share all the good stuff with us. I really want to do something with student portfolios next year too. I would love to know your thoughts and how you plan to organize them!

  5. Hi, does the G'boro stand for Goldsboro??? I am from Goldsboro, NC. I have lived out west in NV for 20 years, but spent the other 20 years of my life there! Still have lots of family there and was there 2 years ago for a reunion!!!

  6. Hi Sarah:
I've done a little work with CHAMPs and I like the icons for supporting classroom management. Things always go so more more smoothly when they follow a routine from Day 1. That's one of my goals for next year.
And I love that you have set a goal to spend more time with your soon-to-be husband. Having that balance certainly makes life a lot more enjoyable.
Thanks for joining up with my very first Linky Party...
