Five for Friday :)

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday! I was up at the crack of dawn today...(well 7:45) The bright sun woke me up but it's ok because I have a ton of stuff to do today before my little sis comes tomorrow and I want to get in a workout as well since I didn't go yesterday. On a side note, when I first started working out, I lost 5 pounds within about a week or 2. Now my weight's pretty stagnant and I do not like it one bit! haha. I go home to Ohio at the end of the month for my first dress fitting and I would like to lose 5 more pounds before that so pray for me friends! :)

Ok, so now on to the good stuff! I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her weekly friday linky and here is what happened in my room this week!

I saw these great pics on other blogs and pinterest of laminating circles and taping on guided reading table instead of using white boards. It's such a hassle sometimes to get all the boards out and then with my group of 4, the table gets cluttered. So I did just that and laminated some circles, (in pink my favorite color of course!) and smacked them on. The kids actually really like them and my table stays more organized!

We had a door decorating contest for read across america week and I saw the most adorable fox in socks on online, so we recreated it. :) Not sure if ours will win because winner is picked on Monday, but I like it and the kids had fun painting the socks. (PS. to get the fox drawn out correctly, I googled a picture on my smartboard, then taped a piece of paper to it and lightly traced over! I can't believe how easy it was and I'll have to remember that for future projects)

We colored a glyph of Dr. Seuss on Wednesday and put red paper behind then hung in hallway. (it was crazy hair day so that's why his hair is green!)

Speaking of crazy hair day...here is a pic of me (not the best one, but it was 7 am and I was getting ready to head out the door) I put a cup under my hair like Cindy Loo Hoo. The kids loved it and kept saying Ms. C has a cup on her head, like it was the craziest thing they ever heard of...and I guess it was! haha

And finally, we did a little bit of SSR last week in honor of the "big guy" and everyday I put up the minutes outside the door. On Thursday, I passed out certificates for awesome readers.

And that's it folks! I hope you enjoyed reading...it was a bit of a long one! Now off to clean and grocery shop. :) Have a great Saturday!
