Alphabet hunt

Hi friends! Whew, it's been a whirl wind of a week. I have to say, I woke up Monday morning with a bad attitude thinking the days were going to drag this week, but I am pleasantly surprised that tomorrow is already Thursday. :) I can't wait to go back to Ohio for the long weekend and surprise my family!
At my school, we have specials two days a week and it really helps to break up the day, but for the other 3 days, since we have  not started our guided reading groups, the mornings seem to drag. The poor kids don't get lunch till 12:10 and we start at 7:55. :( So it makes for a long morning. My co-teacher and I have been busy trying to come up with activities to help make the day fun and I found this searching through blogs and I apologize I forgot the source, but it's an alphabet read the room. The cards have a pic of both the letter and word with accompanying picture and we told the students they had to go on a scavenger hunt to find them all. The really liked it so here's our pictures!

  1. I love write the rooms! I never heard of them until this summer on blogland.

  2. Your schedule is pretty interesting. We have specials three times a week. It's cool, but our instructional coaches eat up 90 mins of one of those days. :-(
I hate/love when I start the week off in a bad mode. I quickly get myself in the right frame of mind, but that time is wasted. Since my class configuration is changing next week I better start with a very upbeat and positive mindset. Great blog!
